Simply put, we hope to improve the health of millions of young children, their families, teachers and health care providers. We are producing an inexpensive hand-held universal device (Trek Reader) that will be used to read twenty FDA approved tests of the most common communicable illnesses. With the test results, these sick children gain a head start on treating these illnesses, reducing the length and severity of illness for the individual child, as well as contagion to others.
The founder and core management team of Trek Reader LLC have seen TR through every step of development from proof of concept to prototype completion and initial evaluation with military health care providers. The initial development cycle was accomplished with the investment of several million dollars. This public use Trek Reader is an extension of what was initially accomplished over a multi-year period with the U.S. Army's Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center. The core team (Riddles, Williams, and Baumgardner) were the project managers and contributing subject matter experts from the beginning of the initiative. Dr. Baumgardner has provided the vision and driving force behind developing the Trek Reader for the health and well-being of individual Americans.
Dr. Rob Baumgardner founded Trek Reader with the vision of putting scientific, engineering and medical knowledge in the hands of parents, schools and providers to the immediate benefit of individuals and communities. He has impressive experience with 20 years in the DOD (Department of Defense) healthcare developing, fielding and sustaining the electronic medical record and support systems. He managed a high performance team for MC4 (Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care) that provided product support and new product development ($45M program). He is a subject matter expert to several Virtual Health products and an Organization Scientist with expertise in monitoring and measuring the performance of organizations. He has over 20 years in the private and government sectors in both Consulting and Management roles, including 4 years in financial systems at a $1.7B energy corporation. Dr. Rob has experience consulting to Fortune 500 companies, the DOD, and the DOE (Department of Energy). Best of all, he has the enthusiasm and vision to make healthcare decisions affordable, fast, and in the hands of those who need it.
